I do industial maintenance and heres a quick list of tools I use a lot and like.
Knipex pliers, I have a pair of the plier-wrench like pictured earlier and many pairs of the Cobra pliers from 7" to 22". The large knipex pliers (22") are so much sturdier than the "big-azz" channel locks. I use the gear wrench brand ratcheting end wrenches. At work we have seen the non-reversing ones hold up a bit better but as long as you do not over torque them they are great. I use a Pellican brand 4AA powered flashlight, very bright and almost impossible to kill. I have dropped my light from twenty feet onto a steel floor and it worked when I picked it up. I use Harbor freight for big wrenches and sockets. They are cheap and you don'tt feel guilty putting a cheater on them or hitting them with a 12 pound hammer. I use a Fluke T5-1000 alot and it seems a fairly rugged meter.
