Crappy Aftermarket Install Kit
Ok.... I got cheap and purchased the Scosche from EBAY. It cost me like $28 with shipping. I finally got it today, and installed my Sony HU into the din adapter. Before I even installed anything, I looked at it right out of the box. The color match was nice, but looking at it further, I noticed a few missing hold-downs and clips from the aftermarket bezel. I understand that I need move all the parts to the new bezel, and maybe buy some new parts if necessary but I did all of that and this crap didn’t even fit all the way. It doesn't line up right, the gaps are all wrong, my hazard light switch is in the wrong place (making it impossible to install) and the airbag light doesn't even have a cover. This is the biggest piece of crap I have ever paid for. I am going to spend the money, (as I should have in the first place) and get the factory bezel. I've noticed that buying a lot of NON-Nissan parts for cheaper doesn’t really get you anywhere. Maybe it’s just what I’m buying, but after going to the dealer today to check the factory XE bezel price, I also saw a factory Nissan bug deflector. The quality is so much better than the Bugdeflector brand that I bought. Same thing with the fog lights, I bought aftermarket ones to try to save money.... After an accident the AM ones were replaced with factory ones, and man... what a difference. I guess some of the crap that I buy is worth a little more research first.
Has anyone else bought the Scosche radio kit and if so have you had luck?
