The noise sounds like a combination of grinding, thumping, rubbing and clunking and it has a load background noise similar to the noise of air thumping inside a truck cab when a front window is down on the highway and pressure is constantly thumping/changing in the cab.
It is really hard to describe the noise any better then that, but I did notice whenever the trucks front end is bobbing up and down, the noise gets a lot louder when there is a greater load on the front end. Also going up hill seems to increase the noise. Every so often when I go over a bump, with or without the trailer hitched up, I can hear a very load metal on metal thump and crack noise coming from the left front suspension. In addition, speeds above 35 mph I can feel a very noticeable vibration through the floor board and in the steering wheel. I have never 4x4 the truck and I only have 3700 miles on it.
2) When I was coming back from my trip I needed gas badly…well the small town I was in did not offer a Chevron, so I went to Conoco. Well, ever since I filled up the truck is not running right. Turns out Conoco shipped bad gas to the whole side of Western Washington and anyone who filled up with the gas just killed their fuel injectors! So when I take my truck in this weekend to get the suspension looked at my fuel injectors will either have to be cleaned very well or replaced.
SEATTLE – There was a major announcement Monday in the growing faulty-fuel controversy that has hit gas stations all around the area.
ConocoPhillips now says its bad gas may have made its way into every county in Western Washington: Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, King, Pierce, Thurston, Mason, Grays Harbor, Kitsap, Jefferson, Island, Clallam, Lewis and Pacific.
ConocoPhillips says every 76 gas station in Western Washington is affected by the announcement and anyone who has bought gas there recently and has experienced problems such as stalling, hesitating or backfiring is entitled to a free fix.
Last Friday, ConocoPhillips announced a "heavy polymer" had made its way into all grades of gas shipped out from its Ferndale refinery, clogging cars' fuel injectors and causing them to quit running.
The company says they found out about the problem two weeks ago but some mechanics say it has been going on with countless cars for at least two months.
ConocoPhillips originally said the problem was contained to a few gas stations in Whatcom and Skagit counties, but complaints from Sequim to Centralia prompted the company to concede they can't be sure any of its gas in Western Washington is safe.

For these reasons, I stick to Mobil, Sunoco, Texaco etc. These small no-names are NOT always the same.
