You are using the factory head unit still, leaving all the rest of the system alone.
I was hoping to use my own head unit while still keeping the NAV and DVD. I would like to remove the Rocford Falsegate head unit, but due to the navigation system being integrated in to the face plate I can see it causing problems. All of the faceplates I have seen remove the Navigation features from them to accomodate an aftermarket audio system. I may have to leave all the factory items alone, and run my whole system independently from it.
When you added your own amps to the system, did you use a converter to go from the high level speaker outputs of your factory head unit to RCA's on your aftermarket amps? If so what did you use to down vert the signal? I have auxilliary inputs on my other head unit, so I could put the factory system in to it that way, but would need to find a really nice high level output to low level converter. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
