Have you tried moving the radio slightly forward in the Metra kit? The radio appears to set 'back' into the opening. You should be able to move it forward slightly by putting a spacer between the radio mounting sleeve and the mounting kit face. This would move the sleeve forward by the length of the space (1/8 to 1/4 inch) thus moving the radio forward and maybe providing the necessary clearance.

Also, if it is only a movement arm that is being restricted (not the full length of the face plate) then it may be possible to remove some material from the mounting kit in the 'offending' area to permit full travel.
