You should be able to move it forward slightly by putting a spacer between the radio mounting sleeve and the mounting kit face. This would move the sleeve forward by the length of the space (1/8 to 1/4 inch) thus moving the radio forward and maybe providing the necessary clearance.
Also, if it is only a movement arm that is being restricted (not the full length of the face plate) then it may be possible to remove some material from the mounting kit in the 'offending' area to permit full travel.

I'm not sure what you mean with the metra kit.
The way the kit works is you you can't use ANY of the mounting hardware provided form your HU. It says to but nothing will fit if you do.
So Basicaly what I have is the 2 plastic side pieces screwed into the HU itself. These pieces hook around the front of the HU. If I put a spacer between these pieces and the HU it would only recess it more (don't really need a spacer as there slots in the plastic to mvoe the HU back farther)? These 2 plastic side pieces then Clip into the surround. so again this leaves no forward (or backwards) play because it clips and locks into place. The CD Player Bezel Plasic trim piece that comes with the Metra kit then fits over the rest (if you don't use the CD-Players mounting hardware it comes with).
If I was to use the sleve the CD Plyer fits into (the one the Eclipse unit comes with) the Trim Piece would not fit. Nor would I be able to use the plastic side pieces to clip the HU to the METRA mount.
How does the schoshe kit work? Does it allow forward adjustment?
