I agree, old news. But respectfully disagree with the rest of the post. Ford does appear to be handling the problem responsibly. I love my Armada, but have owned Fords for years. I have found all of them to be reliable, dependable, low maintenance vehicles. In addition to the Armada, I have:

F-250 Superduty 7.3 Diesel - 450,000 trouble free miles.

F-9000 Turbo Cat Rollback body - lost count of the miles, maybe a million???

Both still in use every day.

Sold my '97 Expedition 5.4L 4x4 to buy this Armada. 107,000 miles - no problems. It did have the Firestone tire recall. Incidentally it did not have Firestone tires on it originally! Came with Goodyears. When they wore out, I put Firestone Wilderness tires on (my bad) and when it was in for routine service, Ford techs saw them and replaced them free of charge anyway because of the bad publicity. I told them they did not come on the truck. They wanted them off anyway.

'03 Volvo S-80 (wife's current car). Why list it? It is owned by Ford. Has never been back to the dealer (or any other shop) for anything. Nor had the '93 Volvo my wife drove for 10 years (never back to the dealer or any other shop for anything other than the scheduled service to replace timing belt, etc), which it replaced - both with great straight 6 engines.

I won't go into the other Fords I've owned and sold over the years, but none of them had quality issues.

I own this Armada because it is better for my needs than the current Ford offerings. I can't say it is a better truck from a quality stand point (although it has also been trouble free and never in for service by anyone), it is just better for my needs.
