Are those rpms safe for your engine?

Well,not really

I'm probably good to 7000, after that, it's anybodies guess. I have forged pistons and heavier 6 pack rods and ARP rod bolts, forged crank and balanced assy. with a nice harmonic balancer, so I should be ok for an occasional overrev! LOL
The small roller cam helps too so the valves aren't hanging out in the breeze too long. It only makes power to 6400 because of the old heads, with modern aluminum heads I would shift at 6900.
I have a set of ported Indy heads lying around that would give me an extra 100hp but I'm saving them for a 505ci stroker project. Can you say 9 second Cuda!!!!

My projects are plodding slowly ahead but here's what I'm working on:

1969 Roadrunner Street/Strip 11.7's in the Summer;

1970 Cuda Drag car, full cage, fiberglass fenders, doors, hood, and decklid,
needs lexan windows finished, and a 9" 3rd member;

1971 Dodge Demon 340, trying to replicate Mopar Action's Flying Brick project that terrorized vettes and other sports cars during several rounds of Car an Driver's One lap of America race.

1970 Camaro drag car, .060 overbore 454 for 468ci, Canfield Heads, 9.5:1 compression, powerglide, 4.56 gears, should run high 10's on pump gas.

So, I've got my hands full, yes?
