Sodbuster, orignally, I too had the same question as you.
However, after driving both, letting a week or so pass, it became bell clear that for less than $3K difference and frequently even less (at a discounted price level), you can purchase the Titan. You have all the power, room, and deluxe fittings that Frontier owners can only dream about (respectfully stated).
The Titan is discounted heavily while the Frontier is not. Why? Nissan makes more Titans and is totally dedicated toward cracking the American big truck market. In effect, Nissan is subsidizing the Titan to "move'm out." Prudently, it just does not make any sense to go with a smaller more expensive (per pound or per cubic inch) vehicle. The Titan is a class beater and offers more of everything for less money. At this juncture in time, the Titans are being offered at invoice LESS $3K rebates. On the local dealer's lot, I see rows of them with a low price of 18.5K but most with good options going for about 22K to 26K. Do your due dilligence and the math and you should be able to make a correct educated decision.
