Bumper Replacement Instructions LE

Time to set aside for project 2-3 hours (one man)

Tools needed:
- 12mm socket 3/8 drive is fine
- Short handle flathead screwdriver
- Long flathead screwdriver
- Pliers
- Standard Phillips head screwdriver

Removal: See pics as they are named for their order of removal.
Step 1: (pics Step 1)
Remove plastic body pieces two. Use flat head screwdriver to disengage clips and lift out of place.

Step 2: (pics Step 2)
Remove Grill by using flathead screwdriver to carefully twist 45 degrees the square heads of plastic clips (Step 2 pic) . There are about 8 I think in total.

Step 3: (pics Step 3A & B)
Once clips turned use the screwdriver to aide in the disengaging of top two push clips left & Right side. There are four clips total. You can see their spacing in Step3B pic after grill is removed. With grill removed your truck looks like this (grill gone pic)

Step 4 & 5: (pic Step 4-5)
Disconnect fog lights if needed and use 12mm socket to remove left & right side support nuts.

Step 6: (pics Step 6)
Remove 2 lower bumper bolts with 12mm socket wrench.

Step 7: (pics step 7)
Remove 4 top bumper bolts.

Step 8: (bumper grill removed)
Remove bumper buy lifting up over metal flap. See step 7 pic as the metal flat is to left of bolts. Pull straight away. Bumper only weights about 45lbs.

Step 9: (pics step 9A,B,C)
Remove the plastic body pieces by depressing clips and unscrewing Phillips head screws.

Installation: Reverse the procedure. However remove the side support braces before beginning bumper installation.
Hint: (pic Install last)
Remove complete support brace from frame using 12mm socket. Once bumper is in place and bolts are finger tight align side braces to the two bumper bolts. Placing the support brace into the bumper bolts first before sliding and bolting to the frame. This step will save you many minutes when trying to align your bumper bolt holes.

Good luck
