This is true. The motor oil manufacturers would like you to change your oil every time you fill your vehicle with gas. If you change your oil twice as often as needed, the oil manufacturers make twice the $$$.
It's funny that some of the people that change their oil every 3,000 miles seldom change their transmission fluid, differential oil, coolant, etc. These people would be better off if they changed their oil every 6,000 miles and used the money saved to change these fluids more often.
