Lugnut, Be sure to check for leakage after they replace the seal. I had my left rear axle seal and bearing replaced couple of weeks ago due to a small leak. Took a trip to Seattle and noticed that a new leak had developed which seemed larger (more oil present). Just returned today from dealer and service rep said problem was in the axle housing itself, the opening where the seal goes is not perfectly round and therefore the replacement seal leaked also.

I give them credit for admitting that a defect in this particular housing exists instead of using some super heavy duty sealer around another seal and hoping for the best. They ordered a complete new rear axle which they gave me an ETA of 3-4 days. If it comes in with the new finned cover, I'll be selling the one I bought and installed when I noticed the first leak.

I have nothing but praise for the Tim Dahle Titan Murray/Salt Lake service department. For those in the area, talk to John or Shane.
