Re: F150

The F-150 is a good truck. A damn good truck, especially with the Lariat trim. It would do better in the performance testing if it was not overweight. It gained a lot of needless weight in its last update. If Ford had put its DOHC 4 valve heads (Navagator) on the truck rather than that wierd 3 valve technology and had hooked it up to a good five speed auto, it would be a lot closer to the Titan. I'd rate it second.

I drove an Expedition for many years. It was a very good truck, just low on power, even with the 5.4 engine and the lower gearing of the towing package. It was just the two valve per cylinder model. I test drove a new one with the three valve design before settling on my Armada. The new Ford engine was better, but not much. I fell in love with this engine and drive train and have not looked back. But Ford makes a good product.

My "other truck" is an F-250 3/4 ton diesel with 450,000 very reliable miles.
