If you don't want an oiled filter, KN makes a slip that you can put over the element to trap dust. It is sort of a sleeve and it is easily removed so you can wash it. From the pictures that I have seen, the AEM and the KN have a similar shaped element, so you probably will be able to put the KN on the AEM. The other option is just to clean the AEM more often with the provided cleaning solution.
