Re: which guns rock which guns suck
I have been a Nosler Partition fan since years ago when my father shot a bull elk in the foot at about 550 yards (he underestimated the distance resulting in substantial bullet drop) with a 30-338 at first light in the morning. We spent the rest of the day tracking it at elevations between 8,000 and 12,000 feet. Just as the sun was starting to go down, we saw the elk in a stand of pine trees about 150 yards away. Since the sun was going down, my father took a desperation shot, shooting through a pine tree, and killing the elk. A few years later, I shot a running bull elk in the shoulder at about 100 yards with a 180 grain Nosler Partition in a 30-06. The bullet broke the shoulder (everybody needs some sausage, right?), penetrated through the elk, and I found the bullet just under the hide on the other side, nicely mushroomed but still intact.
