NEVER! if it were CQB i would prefer the AK but for anything out past 100 75 yds. i would rather have a AR. As for the AR being a plastice POS you must not shoot much to know alot about firearms since the AR-15 was once listed as a great military invention of the 21st century (stoner really invented the AR). As for stopping power you probably haven't seen what a .223 remington does to a deer at 300 yards?
