Some dealers have done the replacement for nothing. Sometimes it depends on what shape/what's happening with the cover/present fluid/noise etc. It varies from dealer to dealer from what I can tell.
If you did it yourself the cover is around 150, then you have to buy longer bolts, and a bracket for some line, maybe the E-Brake line. I don't know.
I had the whole '04 diff replaced under warranty with an '05 when my diff went.
