The 3/4 ton weighs much more, resulting in a greater frictional force (coefficicent of friction * weight on each tire). As a result, the 3/4 will be able to put more power to the ground and pull the 4 cylinder all over the place.

Unless the 3/4 has like 0.1 coefficient of friction and the 4-cyl has 1 for uf.
