Tega Cay isn't too bad, it is in SC though. If your into the night life and after hours entertainment you may want to stay close to uptown. If you don't mind the drive and can afford the housing, Weddington is a really nice spot. It's just east of Charlotte, in Union County. Taxes are lower and schools are great. The whole west side of Union county is pretty nice if Weddington is out of your price range (it was out of mine
).
I'm originally from Chicago, and never want to go back. It will take you a little while to get used to the humid summers, but its a nice are with great people.
