Well if you are picky about sound quality you will have less noise by using preamp outputs as oposed to using LOC and amplifying the noise from the factory radio amps at the high end.

I just finished this mod on my 2006 Armada, the circuit boards were the same and so far so good. It was a pain in the #&*%$ but worth the effort for me, maybe not for all.
