Additionally, Volvo bought out the remaining shares Nissan Motor Co. held in Nissan Diesel. The UD engines are also "not ready for primetime" in the North American consumer market although their new Atlas box trucks are pretty nice compared to the Isuzu ELF. It will be interesting to see what Volvo does with UD or if they simply purchased them to get the Dong Feng (China) relationship to grow.
