If you oil it correctly and leave it for some time to allow it to soak in (preferably 24hrs) then I would say you will never have a problem.

I've got the K&N intake on my Frontier. I bought the cleaning kit, and read the directions. It's very clear that there's a "soak" period.
If people just read the directions!
