After you turn the defroster on it will be on for the duration until you shut the truck off. It is a known issue.

The light will shut off, sure, but it is still running don't be fooled.

I belive they fixed this issue in 06 (most 06's should not have this issue ), hence the conflicting information in this post. Until then this was the case on ALL Nissan vehicles.

My dealship says tuff-**** on this issue with my 05.

I was thinking about selling the truck for an 06, but I can't afford it. It pisses me off that bad, as if having BT and 4x4 were not taking my gas enough they decided I have to run my compressor as well until the end of the drive! Great Now I have to pull over and turn my truck of and back on while towing, then if my windows cloud up I have to turn it back on then pull over to turn it back off etc........ Now I also have this horrible mold smell as well that the dealship says tuff**** about (from running AC too much). I try not to use my AC or defroster because It makes me want to puke.

Nissan does have a reason, it would cost them money to fix the logic in the conroll modual and recall them, so instead they just fixed it in 06. Other than that there is no reason, and 99% of everyone with a titan does not know about the issue because (if the light shuts off the AC/defroster is off). Most people would assume if the light goes out then the compressor is not running, I think if more people were aware of the problem and people started *****ing they might actualy come out with a fix...
