so i've been tinkering with the electronics package (EP) on the skyline, starting with some field effect transistors (FETs). these FETs allow more current to be sent to the motor and each of these FETs allows up to 7 amps of usable current vs just over 2 amps for the stock FETs. i purchased 4 so i could go with two stacks of two FETs on the EP.
Here's the FETs before soldering. You have to carefully bend the leads on one of them before soldering.
The key here is a fine soldering tip, a steady hand and a helluva lot of patience to get it right.

...and the 2x2 stacks after installation. took the skyline for a test drive in the parking garage at work and man is this thing fast now, close to 20 mph with a radioshack stage 2 30K rpm motor! can't wait till the lithium battery conversion kit and Atomic AD motor (up to 52K rpms!) arrives in the mail....this thing is eating up my real Titan mod money!
