These spacers(at least on mine) don't actually lift the back rest part. Go fold up the part of the seat that you sit on, and look where the square rubber pads are(about 1 1/8 square) there's 4 of them, 2 for each seat. The rubber pad is pulled out of the factory position, the nipple cut off flush, aluminum spacer is bolted to where the rubber was, then the rubber is double back taped to the top of the spacer. All the spacers do is give more incline to the front of the seat giving more room for your sub(s), so yeah, the seats do still latch on the back wall.
