I just went thru the same situation. My 36 mo. coverage ended 04/20 and my brakes were essentially smoked when I brought the truck in for service the first week of May, my truck had 39K miles. I ended up paying for pads, but Nissan through a good will assistance payed for the rotors. Are you sure the dealer actually contacted Nissan about the good will assistance? Pretty shocked they didn't help you out any with only 16K on the truck.
