Personally to me, it's about handling. If I wanted pure drag racing or top speed racing it would definitely be a V8 and rwd. Try keeping up with me in the canyons with a camaro or mustang.
4 bangers can be made to go very fast, it just takes money to make anything go fast. While comming home from a Vegas trip, I ran into a new 2007 gsxr1000 in Glenwood Springs in Colorado. He thought he was hard core until I showed him what an EVO 8 was designed to do in those canyons. I was pushing 110-120mph around those roads easy and the Gixxer rider was having a hard time keeping up, actually him and his buddies couldn't keep up.
