Of course, the mechanic says they can only do what Nissan tells them. He did admit that the fluid they use is crap, but Nissan requires it. He also started to give me some crap about the PML cover and the Royal Purple fluid. I argued with him for about 10 minutes about the crappy vent, but he stood firm that over filling was the cause. I hope $285 was worth losing a customer for life!! The service mangaer didn't seem too concerned either.

I had my rear axel seal replaced with the PML cover on with no questions asked. I did check the vent after the seal was replaced and it seemed to be stuck and the cap would not move. Sprayed some carb cleaner on it and freed it up. I now check it every so often to see if it will move freely. Vent mod coming before winter.
