Ok, I was skeptical of using that "scotchlok" to begin with. I had three people recommend that way though. I won't get to work on it tomorrow, as I'll be driving 250 miles to my parents house for the long weekend. I should have time on Friday to do it the correct way and splice in/solder my connection there. I will see what happens then and post results.
