The light on the dash is a cross cut of a tire with an exclamation point in the center of it. If is comes on, it's detecting one or more tires are below a specific pressure. Yes, that light is operated by the sensors in the wheels. On LE/GPS equipped models, I believe it shows the actual pressures of each tire like the wifes Quest does.
