before you do I would recommend trying these steps from casique--as I did it to mine, and it significantly changed the sound. make sure you cover the bottom hole with a cap or some tape (used duct tape on mine) . Also you should be able to get closer to retail on the intake as they are hard to come buy, and a lot of people want them. If you dont want to do the mods, and still want a intake try the k&n as it is supposedly not as loud---my 2 cents offering

This cyindrical pipe insulation is for air conditioner copper tubbing mainly. It is semi-split along its length and it comes in about five or so feet. It cost a couple of dollars.
I cut it through along the semi-split and put it on the lip the sticks out of the Volant, the flage that does not reach the fender opening. Cut the lenth of the pipe insulation to fit the flange and use glue or duct tape to secure it. I just duct taped where the ends on the insulation met. Then I used rubber foam weather strip-self stick (also from home depot and auto grade (stock number R516W) around the fender opening to lessen the gap and mate the volant box tight against the fender.
This quieted the noise some and preutty much shut off the hot air from the engine compartment.
