I have a like new set of Centerline Stingray III wheels for sale (pics mounted on truck below). They are in perfect shape. They are 17" x 8" and they are very light compared to other wheels. I am asking $150 ea and can ship anywhere. Please contact me at bodydoc101@comcast.net if interested.
I bought some cheaper beadlock imitation wheels so I can do some heavy offroading without worries of damaging the expensive wheels with rocks. The cheaper wheels were not available for the Titan when I first did the lift.
Nice wheels.Could you weigh them-not for shiping, but to get an actual weight?A lighter wheel will ride better and accelerate harder(tiny, probably not measurable, increase in city mpg also).Except for the cost, lighter wheels, are one performance-cosmetic- modification with no downside-all upside-except the $$ of course. Thanks,Charlie
Sammy Sandbag,thanks,20 LBS is light. The 17" steel were 31 1/2 the 17 "offroad were 25 even,so 20 would be great. The ride improvement with the Offroad wheels was dramatic-frankly,I didn't expect to notice any difference in ride,it was a bit of a shock-good shock.20lbs would really be a dramatic wt loss(I wonder what our 18" wheels weigh-sure doesn't help the ride if they are boat anchors).Maybe the aluminum damps shock better than steel-bicycle manu claim aluminum bars and wheels have more inherent damping than steel??Charlie
Actually it's the other way around with bike frames. Steel dampens shock better than aluminum, hence it's not a good idea to ride a rigid (hard tail) aluminum bike on rough terrain. Steel gives more flex before failure, that's why I ride only cro moly. With a truck/car wheel I wouldn't think it really factors in, since your tire and suspension are what absorbs the shock.
Sammy,I have always been unclear on damping properties. The motorcycle guys claim the aluminum bars damp better than the steel bars. Now they are sure as heck lighter, and I am not really sure if it is the aluminum material or the wall thickness, taper,or whatever of the bars(or maybe they are just BSing to sell expensive bars).
You are sure right about some aluminum frames-they are absolutely dead, and beat you up.I have an old 531 Super light frame I bought in 1979,that has a really forgiving soft ride(but I have to be careful on since I am well over the suggested 150 lb limit on a 20.5 frame that was suggested then.I also have a carbon frame MTB that is decent riding.
I am really tempted on those wheels.Just put the Offroad wheels on-cost about $500 with install and shipping, but 20 more pounds would be nice. The Centerline site said the wheels are rotary forged-I have read that forged wheels are the strongest per unit of weight, and usually the lightest and most expensive.Roughly what would those Stingray 3 17" wheels cost.? I couldn't get the suggested price list from the Centerline site(my computer is screwed) Thanks,Charlie
I got mine from discounttiresdirect.com for $215 a piece with free shipping and mounting/balancing of the Nittos. They are a special order from them and they don't show them on their website so you'd have to call, ask for Joe.

When do you expect to have them...and mounted? I'm looking forward to seeing pictures.

New List of Mods Coming soon
I ordered them last week about Tuesday or so. Because they didn't stock them in their warehouse they had to order directly from Centerline and gave me a 10 day estimate. I also have the Skyjacker spacers, bushwackers, and speedbleeders all coming in and hope to install all at the same time. I'll definately post pictures in a new topic once available.
Sorry about hijacking your thread DTEK. For those who are looking to buy these wheels, you can save some money on some practically brand new wheels from DTEK.
What size Nittos?Offroad? The wheels are killing me
Sammy, what size Nittos? They are a tire biased for offroad use?
I hope someone buys the wheels and saves themselves $160+.I keep looking at them and thinking about the 20 more lbs of unsprung spinning weight I would lose.Wish I hadn't just gotten the Offroads;I am holding a furious internal debate.
You track guys-heads up on these-they would be 44 lbs less than the steel wheels, and lighter than the 18"(not sure how much) and effectively lighter by quite a bit.I bet they would be worth more than an exhaust system and an intake combined.Just the weight loss could be worth 1/2 a tenth, and the spinning weight loss probably more. These wheels are killing me-already checked my checking account, very bad sign..Charlie.
I got the Terra Grappler 295/70R17 which is 33.19x12.13. It's an All-Terrain tire, so street or trail. I'm installing a Skyjacker coil spacer and Bushwackers as well. The spacers came in today and hopefully the wheels will be in by the end of this week so I can install everything this Saturday. If they aren't I'll go ahead and install everything else and have the wheels on by next week.
.Maybe the aluminum damps shock better than steel-bicycle manu claim aluminum bars and wheels have more inherent damping than steel??Charlie
I have put alot of miles on aluminum and alloy steel frame road bikes. The aluminum frame bikes typically ride harsher. It seems like they transmit all road bumps directly to my dental fillings.
The Wheels are very light. The new wheels I bought are much heavier and I felt it immediately once I switched over. I did not even think of it before I bought new wheels but it is too late now
