On ebay you'll find chrome 18x9.5 for $950 + shipping. But, if you want 20x8.5 CHROME on ebay it's going to be $1k plus shipping - around $1100 total. That's why I didn't buy them on ebay because I found local shops doing it for basically the same price I could find on ebay. So my deal is basically half price for wheels that were mounted only 10 days and yes I did lots of snooping on ebay before I purchased.
I don't doubt the fact that you paid $1,200 for the wheels.

However, the fact remains that your wheels and my wheels, retail, are priced similarly, and I paid $610 for mine.

Your wheels are nice, don't get me wrong. And you selling them for $600 is a decent deal since they only have 10 days of use. But $1,200 new is rape IMO.

Personally I don't see a problem with TT members chiming in if they see a "bad" deal. I don't know enough about this to know if it is or isn't but I feel it can be of a potential benefit. Then again, if it goes to far, people won't use this board to sell things. A lot of people try and sell used stuff at new prices and don't see someone pointing out the price of new as a bad thing.

These wheels for sale were purchased for $1,200. They are Eagle Alloy's and they are very nice wheels. I purchased Eagle Alloy wheels on Ebay brand new for $610. Both are 20x8.5 and chrome. Retail, both wheels are priced similarly.

This person shopped around on Ebay but opted to buy THESE wheels at a local tire/wheel shop for $1,200 even though there are 20 inch chrome Eagle's for sale on Ebay for half that price. I am guessing the reason for this is because he really liked these particular wheels and chose to pay alot more for them. He liked them so much that he is selling them after having them on for only 10 days for $600.

I know that to some people, taking a $600 hit is nothing. And that is fine I guess. But, to me, $600 is nothing to sneeze at. But that is not what bothers me.

What bothers me is that these wheels are being advertised as a great deal.....half price!!.....what a steal!..and I am just not buying it. I think the deal is FAIR, but nothing great Bottom line is these wheels are used (barely, I know), but with a little shopping around you can get VERY similar wheels new, chrome, same size, even same brand for about the same price that these wheels are being offered for. I know because I bought some. I just want people to be aware of that.

Am I being a jerk??? I dunno, maybe, probably, a little, but I don't really care.

Penrose, the rims did sell for $600 and I did have multiple offers so others did see this as a good deal. (Um, I guess they couldn't find your $600 ebay deal either) Also, I have no problem if someone points out a "bad deal" when they see one but you keep comparing apples to oranges by saying you can find these (chrome 20x8.5 Eagle series 114) and many other SIMILAR 20" chrome Eagle Alloys on ebay for $600 new. Well, yes you can find many DIFFERENT 20" chrome Eagle alloys on ebay and a lot of other junk for $600 but if you want the NEW series 114 in chrome 20" it's going to cost you. It's called supply and demand - these are a brand new style and if you want them in oct of 05 it's going to be more than $1000 even on ebay. If you find I site that sells them for less I'd be suprised because when I was shopping for these in late september, the best I could find on ebay was $1100 total. Maybe in 6 months or a year from now the ebay price will be much closer to your $600 deal I keep hearing about.

What bothers me..... is having to wait for you to post this site you keep talking about that is selling them (chrome 20x8.5 Eagle Alloys 114's and NOT SOME SIMILAR TYPE or SIZE but the exact same ones) new for $600 delivered!!! Until then, this was a great deal for about half price.

P.S. Glad to see we have a sheriff in town to watch out for guys like me.

The magical "site" is called Ebay. Just type in- chrome Eagle 20 inch - or something like that and you can find similar,<---(like I said before)... new Eagle Alloy wheels in the $600-$700 price range. Your's will not be there because they are super-dooper awesome just like your half price deal (cough,cough...excuse me).

What I did when I bought my chrome Eagle 20's is I made sure that I was going to like them before I shelled out around $600 for them (or $1,200 in your case). This might save $$ in the future.

Glad you sold them. Sorry you had to take the $600 hit, though
And congratulations to the new owner of your superdooperspecialuglyshiney used Eagles.

Actually, I think I got a pretty good deal from mluters, since the best I could find was $745. starting bid and $775. buy it now with $89. shipping. There are sellers going as high at $899. for these with $90-100 shipping. Maris was also very easy to deal with and helped with fitment questions.
