2004 Titan - take over payments?

I can't believe I have to do this, but here is my truck... I lost my job 3 weeks ago and was living paycheck to paycheck (like alot of us are) and now I'm behind.

I can transfer my lease over to someone if they are interested, 15000 miles a year, $480 a month another 24 months left. Offroad package, tow package, power buckets, 6 disk, Truck has billet grill and Banks exhaust. I'm sure I wont get any takers but what the hell.

Truck is in Richmond VA, no thats not my GF

Re: 2004 Titan - take over payments?

have you called an asked to skip payments? i've done that in the past when unexpected things come up, like water heater or kid needing $8000 worth of dental work.

Re: 2004 Titan - take over payments?

sometimes you can make an interest only payment and they just tack the pricipal on at the end (another payment). worth a shot....trust me, they do not want to have to take your truck anymore than you want to lose it! just call them and talk to them...find out what your options are.

Woo Freakin Hoo! F them.... they can take the truck, I really am so fed up struggling week to week Id rather just get rid of it (yes I know there are consequenses, and yes I know I brought it upon myself)

Re: 2004 Titan - take over payments?

Call back.

See what the next person says. I hate doing this but it's amazing the different responses you'll get. Start over like this is your first time calling.

Just lay out what you can do. 15 days vs 17 days. I haven't had the experience of a bank repo but I can't imagine they could get a repo done in two days(on some of those tv shows it takes weeks to find the target )

If all else fails ask for a manager.

If you ever want to get the same response twice never try a cell phone company.
Each time we run into something like this keep calling until we get the answer we want and run with it. Each person that answers is diffrent and there are millions that answer the phone for them.

Re: 2004 Titan - take over payments?

Having done the bank repo thing i don't recommend it. As you know it crashes your credit which is attached to everything these days from getting your electric turned on to insuring your next vehicle. then they will wholesale your truck for a ridiculously low price and come after you for the difference.

don't do it man if you have any other options.

Re: 2004 Titan - take over payments?

just ask if you can push the payment to the back end of the loan. i do it almost every year, something comes up and NMAC always lets me do it.
good luck!

Re: 2004 Titan - take over payments?

Amsouth has asked me to do it for the last two Decembers. They also did it each year on a previous truck. It's a sham on their part, as they make a little extra $ on the little "processing fee" they tack on to do it. I've never actually done it.
