I have heard a lot of good things about the glocks....So be it....Still, i think a gun should be metal all over except for the grips/stock....Good old fashioned metal guns can club the hell out of you if you run out of ammo...

That's called Buffalo-ing...hittin' someone upside the head with the underside a the barrel.

Regardless of all the movies you've seen..no one in real life would hold the barrel and hit someone over the head with the butt.

Ya need a longer barrel to be effective...which leaves out most automatics.

I was talking about holding the grips and clubbing them with the steel barrel/slide.....

No scheiss...that's the exact description of buffalo-ing...

I added the Hollywood version because most people think that's the way to do it.

The Hollywood way...gun could go off..killing someone.

I'm messin' with you...too

I only bought the D thing because it is a better defense weapon than the gun it replaced...a Colt SAA made in 1883.

And because I bought it 20 years ago...it has the 17 round mags...no longer legal in CA...In CA the most a semi-auto handgun magazine capacity can have is.. 10 rounds

The glocks with the plastic stocks are much lighter and are a lot more comfortable to wear all day long. i have a ccw with a glock 26 9mm.

"Best safety system invented???"
They don't even have a safety! I can think of a lot of other automatics that are much safer than glocks, if this is what you're referring to. Reliability is a different matter though.

^^^Glocks carry so much ammo you don't have to worry about running out, and I club people with asps, flashlights, and riot sticks.......

450 is about right but not much of a discount.

They don't even have a safety![quote]

On a Glock 17...there's a flange in the center of the trigger...the gun can't accidentally discharge by being dropped. Your finger has to cover the flange before the gun will fire. I don't know about other Glocks models, tho. But I doubt any gun without some sort of safety device would raise holy helll among the left wingers...giving them more fuel for the fire. There must be some sort of safety.

Re: NIB Glock - any model

My steel 92-FS will hold 16-1 and has seen over 7000 rounds to date and still looks almost new and performs perfect.....

If you can`t do it with 15-17 rounds, you better give it up and run like hell !!!!

Just blowin smoke about clubin someone with a gun, but i do have the .500 S&W with a 8.5" barrel that weighs almost 5lbs. that would put you in a coma if wacked across the head....

Pappa - You bought that big S&W? I shot one at the range - and it made my Stainless Steel S&W 625 .45 feel like a cap pistol! How often do you fire that monster? Once was enough for me!

Wrong. While they do not have a manual safety every glock has 3 passive safeties.

Re: NIB Glock - any model

I know they have passive safey mechanisms, but they really don't do anything. If you own a gun that shots when you drop it you own a ****ty gun. The glock fires when there is a bullet in the chamber and you pull the trigger.....That's how it should work, but I certainly don't consider those safety features.
Bullet in chamber+gun upside down=shoot+in water=shoot, plus basically anything you can throw at it outside of a cement filled barrel= shoot.

All you need is bullet in chamber and a trigger pull. Many other guns are much "safer" these guns are designed with combat in mind, not gun safety.

Re: NIB Glock - any model

I believe Kartman is on a Glock shooting team...so he should be well informed...on this subject. I know of no issue where Glocks will accidently fired when dropped...no exposed hammer is one of the plusses.
