I might have to sell the Titan and was wondering what you guys think I might be able to get for it? KBB shows its worth approx. 24K for private party in excellent condition less all the extras. Or would it be better to put back to stock and part out??? I have approx. 13K invested in aftermarket parts which I know I'm only able to get back some of the investment. I bought the truck less than 1 year ago and still has the paper plates on it. I was hoping I'd get 28K complete but dunno??? Give me some realistic pricing and remember I'm going to try and not sell the Titan seeing I'm just about getting her done the way I wanted. This will be the last thing I'd want to sell...

Its going to be tough to sell a year old truck for anything near what the new ones go for. What would a similar new truck sell for? Do you have a CarMax near by?

The sticker on the truck I think was 37K when I bought it. I got it out the door for 33K including tax (8.25%), lic., doc, etc. etc. Not including any financing. So I'd ASSUME a new one would cost the same except I got a 3000K rebate and not a 5000 or 5500 rebate what ever there at today. So a new truck would be somewhere around 30.5K. Plus all the extras and if I got 50% of the extras that would be another 6.5K less the depreciation of the truck. How much does the truck depriciate in 1 year , I know it's the biggest hit. Theoreticly if I take a price of 30K for the truck pre tax and deduct another 5K to net the truck down to 25K and add only 50% value of aftermaket items I'd be at 31.5K. Or is this just wishfull thinking that I should be able to get 28K??? Oh and yes there is a carmax near here and was thinking of going there, but with all the aftermarket stuff I dunno???

go to kelly blue book .com and enter all of the info they will give you quotes for trade in, private party, etc...
I found Edmunds.com to be an invaluable tool for selling and buying. Based on your options/model/color, etc. it'll give you "True Market Value" for your zip code. Basically, a fair price for private sale, trade in value, and retail (a reasonable offer). Good luck. To give you a ballpark, though, I just bought a 2008.5 Pro-4X with tow pkg., utility pkg. (utilitrack), bet extender, and Rockford Fosgate pkg. (most of the bells and whistles) for $30,300 after rebate.

Carmax is hit or miss. Was considering selling my truck a while back and kbb and edmunds was around 26K for private and maybe 23K for trade in. Carmax offered 20K. Flat out said that they don't even look at aftermarket items, just price it as if stock. I don't have many mods, but that was just a blanket statement from the start.
I have also heard others on here that they were offered prices that were more in line with Kbb and others. Could be market or regional differences.
Best thing is to find that "right" person that perhaps is looking to modify a truck the same way and is willing to just buy yours. Problem is that banks lend according to book values, so they would lend a max of perhaps 24K.
Best of luck!
Steve

If I had the dough Id have no heartache over giving you 28k for it. although I dont think i could give up my 04 LE. Maybe I could convince the wife to drive mine and I could trade in her POS focus for your beauty.

Wishful thinking. I took my 2007 4x4 SE to carmax when it was 8 months old with 7000 miles on it with a 6" procomp stage II lift, bars, ect. and they offered $19,500.

So even trade on the Titan for the focus or would I have shell out some cash???

So basicly what your saying is I have to try and sell thru private party. And who has 28K in cash? Or strip her down and trade here in and sell all the aftermarket stuff at a huge discount. Either way I loose big time!!! I'm gonna do my best and try and keep her. I have a DR650 and WR 450 I can sell first. So I take it you never sold your truck and still have it correct?
