im helping my dad look for a pair of mud flaps for his 2008.5 titan se. need pair of front and rear. located in dallas area, texas. email me at hunter280zx@hotmail.com if you can help us out!
do the stock ones really damage the paint? how so? my dad's titan isnt going to see anything but the pavement haha, but even just on the roads they damage your paint?
Oh really?! I've never seen or experianced this. How does this happen?
OP - I have a set if your interested
Oh really, you must not look at very many titans. If you know how they mount it is easy for anyone to tell how they will damage paint. But since you can't seem to fiqure it out here is a pic. Now you have seen one. Try not to be such a smart arse next time, mr no it all.
Yeah I am looking for some for an 06.... Does this happen to before the 08's too or just the 08+ and How or Why does this happen?
Reef
This happens because of the crappy design on the flaps. They are held on by sticky tape on the fender and a couple screws on the inside the fender well. The constant shaking causes the flap to rub the fender at the bends. Do what you want, but just consider this a friendly warning. Better yet look around in parking lots at titans with mud flaps. Gab the mud flap and pull it slightly away from the fender and see if there are marks there I bet you 1/2 the ones you check have marks, and the other 1/2 will eventually.

I explained it in my post above this one, please by some after market ones. If you insist on the stock ones I have a complete set I am about to throw away.
oh ****! well hell, i guess you're right. i learned something today!
At one of the Houston meets I went to everyones truck that had mud flaps, and showed the owner where they were rubbing on their truck. Almost everyone had some rubbing. Mine are worse, because I am off road alot. But after a few years even on road will mess up the fender. I warn everyone I see about this, my truck is rusting from it, and I don't want anyone else's truck to get messed up.

Watch the name calling child. Maybe if you knew your truck well you would know these things. Have you actually looked under one of the mud flaps?
I am willing to bet my wifes nissan quest, and my saturn see more off road use than you and your buddy's trucks.
I just bought my titan a little while back, used. I just pulled the flaps off this morning (posted a FS add on here for them). No more flaps and debadged
The front 2 use 3 screws, one on teh inside and 2 on the body side and held really good with the tape, and I've got no rub marks. The back 2 however, use 2 on teh inside and 1 on teh body side and that tape wasn't even sticking to the body. I posted that in the thread above, and those did leave some rub marks. most of it will probably buff out, and the deep areas, while......... I'm planning ot install flares in the future, so i'm not as concerned with that.
