SoCal: If you want your rear bumper colormatched without the hastle...
I've decided to open up my own little "come to your house and colormatch your rear bumper" kinda thing in a close proximity to where I'm at... Honestly I'd like to just make a quick buck and met some cool Titan owners...now, here's how i was thinking of doing it...
Material Cost
*2 Cans Of Pre-Colormatched Paint ($50.00 Shipped)
*1 Can Clearcoat ($3.00)
*Various Assortment of sandpaper ($7.00)
Outcome
*Sorry They're All Huge, It's So that They Can be Opened For Close-Up View's
Labor And Time
8Probably From The Time I pull in to the time I leave will vary from 1 hour to 1hr. 45 min. depending on Conditions.
So, for me, the total cost of materials would be around $60.00 even...Throw on whatever tip you feel would be adequate for me to drive to you in the so cal area and I'll save you quite a bit of cash and hastle and do a perfect colormatch right in your driveway!
So, does this sound appealing to anyone? I can do all models and years. This process is perfected for the bumpers that are not chrome, but If someone would be a guinea pig I'm sure I could make it work (Just would be a lot more sanding) But I'm open to any offers, just lemme know what everyones thinking!
Oh, and the bumpers do not need to be removed and everything is hand sanded to perfection

Trucks @ The Brake place right now because 40,000 miles on stock brakes...and they're gone lmao...So as soon as I get my truck back I'll be sure to post pics in all lighting situations...
Thanks for looking guys! And Firelife25 is going to be the guinea pig, so if your hesitant as soon as his is finished I'll get some pictures up in no time...although It will most likely be later next week before the paint goes on

I dont know if I'll ever find myself in either of those areas, but if you ever go down to one of the so cal meets I'd be glad to do it there!

Sounds like a good idea, but not sure how that clear will stand up to rocks and whatever else hits the bumper.
Funny thing is, I use Krylon...sounds goofy but I find it holds up better against brute damage better than more common clear coats. I guess you cvould wet sand after If you really felt up to it...but I've never wet sanded any of my projects and they turned out great man...

Hay im interested. What is the process with the chrome? I assume your not stripping it. Can you sand and scuff it up enough to get paint to stick? What grit do you use? I was under the impression that you could not get the paint to stick even if you used a adheisive promoter.
I wanted to do the front but with all the rock trucks and crap on the roads out here it would get pummeled.
