from Sherwood Nissan. LOVE the truck! I was very tempted to open her up on the highway back to Fort McMurray, but I need to break her in properly. Some concerns at delivery though. The truck only had 24 kms on it but had a dirty interior, a couple of spots on the rear seats actually had tar on them and the center console had a couple of scratches. The salesperson took it to the back and had it cleaned. But when I got it home, I saw much larger tar stains on the carpeted floor and inside the doors!!!! I'm thinking that when the dealer had it shipped by truck/train some one had a looksee and sat inside the truck. Other than that, the dealership experience has been good. Even got to talking to a couple of people who had brought their vehicles in for servicing and they said they didn't buy from Sherwood, but it serviced there because they're friendlier and more accommodating than Westend and Ericsen. Just curious though, I just saw the tire load sticker inside the door and it said max. cargo and passenger weight 1104 lbs. I thought from all the reading that it was 1450 lbs? If it's 1104 lbs, that would suck and I would've considered another truck!

Congrats on the new truck Canada0937. I knew you'd like it. After hearing all the scary stories on this website, I was very nervous with break-in and first towing experience. I felt like something might break or overheat or something. So far, everything is good.

I know the payload is quite low on these trucks (a little lower on the CC I think). I'm not sure why they went with such light duty tires. I'm accustomed to using E rated (10 ply) tires on my trucks and this was is just a regular P rated tire!?! Not even LT??? ...and it's rated to pull over 9,000 lbs!!! I don't get it. Hopefully by the time I need new tires, they'll have a load rated option for me. Right now, not much is offerred in the 18' size I need. It's something I didn't really think of when I bought the truck either, but I would have still purchased the Nissan. IMO, there isn't much competition in the 1/2 ton market right now. Maybe someday they'll have an HD version.

How's the weather up in Fort Mac? We had a freak snowstorm today but it's back up to plus temps for the rest of the week. It makes things really muddy for those of us who work outside.

Hey Rizzo,

I do love the truck....I'll keep my fingers crossed that I don't have any of the problems that I've read on this board. I was in Edmonton/Sherwood Park last week for 5 days and enjoyed the weather...saw too many bikes out and got the itch. When I got home, I took the cover off my bike and started her up, had fun making the neighbours mad at me with all the noise when I cranked my right hand!

I did have a small problem last week with the centre seatbelt in the rear. I couldn't pull it out! No matter what I tried, the belt was locked! I just left it overnight and all of a sudden it worked! Go figure! I see the TSB is for the outboard belts and not the centre one.

I'm looking for a hard tonneau cover or canopy, what do you think? I don't want to lose the utilitrack though.

check your tire pressure tires are max psi 35 my tires were at 42 psi ... BFG's

They'll clean up the tar and fix the seatbelt for you, too. There is a delivery checklist on here somewhere in the FAQ section posted by HalfShovel that covers everything you should inspect...

Call the truck outfitters and see what they have to offer for the Titan. I'm not sure there's much out there yet but I'm sure it's coming. I'm not recommending them (although I've had decent service from them in the past) but they seem to carry a decent line-up of accessories. They may be a little pricey so call some other places as well. If you need a hand with picking up something locally, I'll help ya out.

I think I'd go for a canopy before a tonneau cover. The tonneau is nice but it really restricts what you can put in the bed of your truck...nothing above the rails. We have an '97 F-150 with a hard lift up cover on the bed at work (for sale) and it looks super sweet. I'm planning on putting the bikes in the back of my Titan so neither one would work for me.

I get the itch to ride when I see all the bikes riding around too. Maybe I'll head out in a couple of weeks depending on weather. We had a bunch of snow in the past couple days. I think it's supposed to warm up a little next week though.

Oh ya, I got my Line-X the other day and am very impressed. There is a guy who lives here in the Park who owns the shop and he does a really good job at a pretty good price. I'm very impressed with mine so far but time will tell. It seems to make the ride of the truck noticeably quieter.

Did your truck come with the factory spray in bedliner? I've decided that all the tonneau covers are too pricey for me right now. I've been on the Clubtitan forum and someone there posted a home made bed cover made out of 3/4" plywood painted black. Here's the link . I bought 2 pieces today and they fit perfectly in the utilitrack rails. I just need to paint it...looks good too! Once I finish, I'll post pics!

I put on the Advanced folding cover, you can fold it up to the front and only takes up about 18", or take it off (2 bolts one person). There's a company in Red Deer that sells them for about $1200 installed. Or you can do what I did and order online from here: http://www.kcovers.com/index.html I had them ship it to the airport, shipping company called me when it was in, I went out there and cleared it with customs, took about 15min in customs.
So it cost me about $850 Canadian, gst, shipping, and exchange in.

I too bought this cover by phone with shipping to my office. Just under $800 CDN including taxes and shipping. Quite water tight and easy to use. Easy to take off/on too and uses the Utilitrack.

BTW - I opted not to get the factory spray in liner. They've had waaaay too many problems for me. With the money I saved, I got my own spray in done at a local Line-X dealer. Plus, I have money in my pocket for gas...or tires...or a new stereo (I didn't get the Rockford Fosgate and the low end stereo sucks hard. Local radio stations are even fuzzy, some worse than others).

I was looking at a hard/soft cover through my dealer. They recomended a RHINO... Anyone ever hear of them? It looks REALLY Tough simply because it could hold snow! We get ALOT of snow when your on Lake Simcoe. Price was $1500 or there abouts.

Hey gerriem, I have heard of Rhino but they make spray in bed liners for trucks. I'm not sure if it would be the same company that makes the bed cover or not.

$1500 sounds a little steep to me. What do you mean by hard/soft cover? We have a Cougar Cap on one of our work trucks and it is excellent quality. I think it cost us about $1000 give 'er take. I find those covers look really nice on the truck but really limits what you can put in the box.
