Brake Judder

I just received a letter from Nissan Canada informing me that they have extended my warranty to 36 months/unlimited mileage for "brake judder". In this letter it explains "brake judder" as a steering wheel shake, body vibration or brake pedal pulsation while braking, especially at highway speeds.

As I haven't experienced any of these conditions, I was wondering if anyone else in Canada also received this letter and are you or have you experienced this "brake judder" in your 2004 or 2005 Titan

Re: Brake Judder

I got the letter in the mail about a week ago, same statement about the etended waranty. Although it is nice to see, I would have liked to see 4 years / unlimited miles rather then 3.
What was the origional warranty on these parts anyway?

On another note,

I still have the letter I recieved where Nissan Canada is offering me $700 cash rebate for an error in stating that the VDC was offered in my 2005 LE CrewCab, Still have not decided weither to accept and submit or to hold off.

Cheers,

Re: Brake Judder

Dont wait for the brake problem to start.Go in to the dealer and tell then you have a shimmy when the brakes get hot , and they will give you the updated set. They stop the truck with less foot force and just fill better.

Next week when I'm in Brandon, I'll go to the Nissan dealership and see what they say. Things are working fine so I don't know if I want to chance them screwing things up.

Re: Brake Judder

I had brake judder at 8k miles. At that time the fix was to turn the front rotors and install replacement pads. Brake judder came back at 14k miles. Got the complete new brake kit installed on the front (new rotors and pads), and the rear rotors turned with new pads.
The truck stops much better, with better brake pedal feel, and best of all ... no more brake dust. The new style front brake pads have virtually eliminated the brake dust problem.

We do test drive the vehicles to verify the brake concern. If we can not duplicate the concern we can not fix it as Nissan Warranty will reject the claim. If you can get the dealership to intall the new brake kit out of the kindness of their hearts, good job.

Re: Brake Judder

I have 15000 km's on my 04 SE 4x4 and np problems yet. I have made several trips through the mountains from Vancouver to Kelowna and there are several long grades which require frequent brake use. Is Nissan changing out all Canadian trucks brakes?

Re: Brake Judder

I'm sure that Canada has the same TSB for brake judder. They should be able to install the new brake kit if you have a brake judder issue.
