Just returned from the coast averaging about 12.5 MPG pulling 7,000lbs +/-. I had as high as 14 MPG and as low as 10.5 MPG.

My low tire pressure indicator light comes on frequently but all my tires are as max capacity. This is an issue I brought up with my dealer when they did the last service and they claimed it was fixed...ya right. I also have a nasty rattle/click in my dash that they said didn't exist. It irratated me all the way to the coast, around the island and back. Grrrrr.

I have yet to hear back from the dealer about my brake fix. He had no idea what parts would be ordered but said he'd "put me on the list".

I averaged about 12.5 pulling my 5000lb+ trailer... I was happy with that. I also got 21 on a trip down south over the weekend. As to the brakes, they better fix mine soon as it is getting really bad.

Waiting for brake parts brake problem is not too bad they turned the rotars as a temp fix and it seemed to help quite a bit. They are going to replace the radio AGAIN when they do the brakes as I can only receive AM stations that are within a 50 mile radius. Otherwise a great truck. I pull a travel trailer that loaded up weighs about 7000lbs and I dont want any brake trouble in the mountains when I go to Ca. in Jan.

My truck is scheduled for the brake fix tomorrow. Hopefully it will be an improvement.

My rotors were turned at about 9,000k and it got rid of the judder but the brakes still felt very weak.

I've had "the brakes" (judder?) redone at the dealership (24k). They put the rear brake refit on and "turned" the front rotors with new pads. Brought it in for the 30k and was told that they still do not have the front "package"!!! Guess the US trucks take priority! Have not had a problem with the resolved (turned) rotors, but I"ve been babying them since.
On another issue I will be switching to FULL synthetic (Mobile) in the engine, and diff.
I'm hoping that will keep the mileage at 19mpg. Service rep at the dealership said that everyone that has switched have commented favourably about the lubricant.

Had my rotors turned about a month ago and this stopped the judder. yesterday, the dealer did the complete fix and put in all the new parts. The judder still had not come back, but they called me and said they were going to do the complete fix. The truck definitely stops better with less brake pressure. They now feel like very solid brakes.

I had my brakes fixed a couple weeks ago. While it is a definite improvement, they still aren't great. Oh well, I guess I won't complain too much.

I've also switched over to Mobile 1 full synthetic engine oil. I changed to Amsoil 80w90 synthetic in my diff soon after I received the truck and have pulled lots of trailers for about 11,000 of my 17,000km on the truck. No problems at all. I'm actually really impressed with how it pulls (for a half ton). Motor wise and tranny wise it is fantastic, but suspension wise, it is very very lacking. Although I'm not as impressed with the Titan as I hoped I would be, I would definitely consider a heavy duty version of this truck for my next truck purchase.

There isn't a heavy duty 3/4 or 1 ton truck with a gas motor worth anything on the market right now. Ya gotta go diesel in the big trucks.

Smile Permanent fix scheduled for next week

My dealer contacted me yesterday to schedule some back-ordered warranty fixes. They indicated that they'd started to get some brake parts in and were scheduling on priority basis. It turns out somebody rhigher on the list than me eceived two sets of parts and so I am getting mine done next week.

I'll post again after it's done. If you have any specifics you'd like to know, reply with your questions before next Friday.

Got the brake fix done last week, but the brakes seemed weaker. I almost rear ended someone on the way home. Took it back the next day, had the service manager drive it, he said it was fine. Went home checked the parts list with the tsb on the net, all the parts were right. But found another tsb on mushy brakes, phoned back, and the truck is going back in next week. I'll let you know what, if anything they do. You've got to hate these Canadian service departments.

Mushy brakes = brakes not properly bled.

Yes that's what I was thinking too. But the service manager said they don't take the line off anywhere so they don't need to be bled.

Funny. Your dealer is a moron.

I think I see the problem. In looking at the TSBs, I can't find where they specifically say "BLEED THE BRAKES". Thus the dealer doesn't bleed the brakes because Nissan probably won't pay the dealer to do anything not on the TSB. So unless the tech exercises common sense, you will come out with mushy brakes.

My permanent brake fix was done OK on Friday. Brake pedal is a bit firmer afterwards. I was somewhat surprised that the fix includes replacing rotors on the front only. The rear ones are turned if they appear OK. New pads on all four wheels though. This seems to be consistent with the TSB.
