Just got back from picking up the Travel Trailer at Trailblazerrv. Camped out in Spruce Grove at Glowing Embers RV Site just so we could be close to the dealership if anything went wrong. Overall the trailer was awesome and am looking forward to more camping trips. The only painful thing was not exceeding 80 km/h on the 430 km trip home. It took me 6.5 hours! Not recommended. To top it off, I still have 400 km of the break in period left, so that means one more 6.5 hour trip!

What break in period are you talking about? Does the trailer have a break in period? That seems odd.
I love the looks of that trailer behind your titan. I have the CC too and would love to trade in my 23' Mallard on the 2701SS (I think this is the one) but I am building a new house so I can't swing it yet.
Does the titan pull it okay?

In the truck's owner's manual, it says, "Do not tow for the first 1000 mi....for the first 500 mi that you do tow, do not exceed 50 mph". There have been many interpretations of this sentence on this forum, but I understand it that no matter how many miles you have on your truck, whenever you decide to tow, for the first 500 mi, you shouldn't exceed 50 mph. Although, during my grueling trip on the weekend I started to question it. What if I had 10000 mi on my truck, you would figure that it was broken in already wouldn't you? Just a thought. I figure that it's better to play it safe.
The truck pulled it with no problems. It felt like it would do any speed I asked it to. Just had to make sure I set the WD hitch and sway bars correctly to minimize squat. I still have to measure exactly how much squat the truck had, it'll have to wait until the next trip.

Maybe thats why I blew my front diff/axle and burnt the paint off my rear diff. I didn't tow within my first 1600kms but I did exceed 80KM/H when I towed my TT when I was around 4000kms. They did say that the front end was a known problem, though.

I first towed my 23 ft TT (5,500 lbs) from Winnipeg to home about 320 kms when I had about 8,000 kms on the Titan. I averaged 100 kph. My next trip was 160 kms at an average speed of 80 kph (through Riding Mountain National Park). Somehow I can't see travelling at 80 kph when the speed limit is 100 kph. My previous truck (1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS) had the same restriction but ignored that and I had no problems over four years of solo and towing.
Maybe this restriction is intended for towing with a brand new truck BUT I guess time will tell.

If you don't mind I'd like to ask some questions.
I'd like to know what model # Rockwood that is you have there. I noticed it's a Super Slide (SS) but can you tell me the length and how you like or think you'll like it after some time with it. Do you feel you got a good deal price wise on it as it looks like you bought it brand new.
I'm in the market for a trailer and I'm wanting one with 27 to 30ft of interior space with a SS.
Your setup looks real nice.
Thanks

The Trailer is a Rockwood 2601. Length 26'. I paid just a little over $21000 USD for it. Whether or not I overpaid or underpaid is a moot point since I accpeted the terms. There's a discussion on Open Roads Forum that has the Rockwood 2601 from RVDirect coming in any where from $18000 - $21000 USD. I really like the lay out and it suits my family AND truck perfectly. The hitch weight (advertised) is 362#. As you know, the Titan has a limited payload. In reality, I'm figuring it's about 550#, once the trailer is loaded. Yes, I bought new, I usually do, that way I know it's being taken care of properly. I have bought used in the past and have always been disappointed. Hope this helps.
P.S. I would look at the 2701SS as it is a 30' trailer with similar/better floorplan and actually has a lighter hitch weight than my 2601.

I was interested in both these trailers and the only reason I would go with the 2701SS is becasue of the bigger bottom bunk. The extra length can easily be handled by the Titan, but it might make it a little harder to pull into small sites.

Man that's a huge trailer!
I finally settled on one myself, but a much smaller Rockwood. Now I see why the other dealers were bad mouthing Rockwood. That's because they offer the most bang for the buck! Starcraft and Jayco just don't compare.
As far as speed limits go, around here we have speed limits from 55 - 70mph. Legally, your only allowed to go under by 10mph. Otherwise, you'll get a ticket for causing an obstruction and backing up traffic. So at most I'll have to go 60mph. Nissan should had known the legalities of driving that slow.
BTW, my newer trailer is here and here. Hopefully I'll have it next weekend. Out the door with all taxes and accessories for hookup, truck brake controller and the such, $8000 USD.
I think it was stated that the 2601 has an INTERIOR length around 26'.

That's right, exterior wall to exterior wall it's a little over 26'. Center of hitch to spare tire 29'5". We all use different measurements. I use 26' for insurance purposes. 29'5" to brag about what the truck can tow.

I just got back from our first trip towing the new trailer. My Titan has 23,000 miles so I wasn't concerned about the towing break-in period. I averaged about 60 mph on the freeways.

I have a similar situation with my Jazz. It's 25' on the inside but 30' from the outside.
I'm pulling a 25' Mallard 25Z lite with my c/c. Just a quick note did you need weight distribution ? or did you try without? I'm towing without w/d & no sway so far no ill effects. My trailer advertises 472lbs dry but figure I have nearly 600+ lbs on the hitch, unit sits slightly lower than level. Let me know.
