I originally purchased a 2004 from a Nissan dealership in Lethbridge, Alberta. This 2004 was used from the US and had been imported by the dealership. I had some problems with the front end and eventually due to difficulty getting warranty service from Canadian dealerships (Mills & West End) on this US vehicle I traded it for a new 2008. I purchased the 2008 from West End Nissan here in Edmonton, Alberta. Yes I know I will have paid a great deal more for the truck then buying in the US but I really wanted to assure myself I would get good service and so far the service at West End Nissan has been superb.
The problem arose lately when I went to West End Nissan to see what they would give me for the truck. (I was looking at trading it in at a different dealership and thought they may be interested in it) The sales manager Brad informed me my 2008 CC LE longbox, Navi, DVD, Pro Comp Stg2 lift kit would only be worth about CAN $39000 when the truck was 6 months old and had 21000km. I was quite shocked to hear such a drop in value. He informed me that he is now importing trucks from the US and therefore Canadian trucks must now compete against that market for price regardless if they were bought in Canada or not.
So it is very interesting to me how a dealership that first said they will not warranty US vehicles is now importing themselves. I commented that I feel they are actually damaging the Titan market in Canada, and Brad's response was to laugh and say "I am here to make money". Therefore, the fact I bought my truck from them to help support a local dealership does not matter at all to Brad or West End Nissan. Another true story of the wonderful ethics of car dealers.

Another great story of the ethics of Edmonton, Alberta West End Nissan sales manager. They had a red Pro4X in their showroom for at least 5 months that had a lift kit and various other add-ons. I had looked under the truck when purchasing the lift kit for mine and secretly found out the dealership owners son had driven the vehicle into the mountains pulling snowmobiles. The truck really was rough underneath obviously not being well cared for. However, West End was selling this Pro4X for, get this people you better sit down, $62000 as they considered the truck brand new. Remember this is at the same time they were offering me $39000 for my 2008 CC LE. A friend of mine went in looking at Titan's and he also was told this truck was a "demo", not used as it has never been licensed in Canada because it carried dealer plates. He laughed at them because he knew the true story behind the truck. So buyer beware if purchasing from West End Nissan in Edmonton. My recommendation is to buy from anywhere else but have all your service completed at West End Nissan. The service and parts group really is top notch. In fact I have discussed the West End Nissan sales practices with the service/parts group and they agree fully with me about the unethical practices and damage being done to the Titan market.
Update to previous post. Went to West End Nissan to have them look at my front tire wear. I have had great difficulty keeping the front end alignment since the installation of the ProComp StgII lift kit. Fortunately the service people really stand behind their product (dealer installed lift kit) and are doing another alignment (4th since lift kit install) for free and rotating tires. The parts manager said they are having difficulty keeping the alignment with all lifted Titans that are taken on gravel roads. Anyways, one of the employees discussed the US/Canada Titan issue and he is currently in the market for buying a Titan. I asked where he planned on getting it and he laughed and said of course I am not buying my Titan from West End Nissan. They are also replacing my windshield for free as it has a crack on the passenger side they feel is a stress crack and has happened on a number of Longbox Titans only. So once again I cannot recommend purchasing a Titan from West End Nissan but I can certainly recommend having it lifted and serviced there.
I didn't spend much time at the west end before I knew things were not all roses. My suggestion to anyone in the Edmonton area is to look at Mills in the south end and Sherwood in Sherwood Park. Both have been good on all aspects of sales and service (just make sure you book well in advance for service, because they are good they are also very busy). I've never had an issue both dealerships didn't take care of immediately and to my satisfaction which is something I can't say about any number of dealerships in the area where I've purchased vehicles.
I have only had the truck, 08 CC LE, for a month and a half, and 1600kms, but my purchasing experience wasn't too negative. I dealt with a newbie sales associate, who didn't know much about the truck, in fact he was quoting facts I told him on my second visit!
I've heard good things from co-workers about the service department, so much so that one co-worker who relocated to Calgary, traveled back up to Sherwood to buy a little Versa.
I bought my 06 titan new from ericksen, no complaints. I checked out west end nissan and left cause I just didn't get a good feeling from the people there. Very pushy some of them. You guys know anyone looking for a 06 CC titan LE 4x4. Will sell for a good price.
Swingman, Why are you trading in that truck anyways? I bought my 04 KC from them used in March 07 and the trade in value is under 12grand now, HaHaHa so i guess ill be keepin it for a couple years yet. As for service at West End Nissan A+ !! They replaced my transmission no questions asked at 84,000Km under the extended warranty.
I was looking at trading the Titan in on a supercharged Ranger Rover but when I found out how little the truck was worth I decided to keep it and bought the Ranger Rover directly from dealership with no trade-in. So now I have both, but the Titan gets very little use.
You purchased the 08 brand new I'm assuming....the moment you purchase that vehicle and drive it off the lot you lose a HUGE amount of money due to depreciation...it's retarded, plus the ****ty gas prices and cheap US vehicles trucks are worth nothing these days..one of my co workers sell cars on the side and he says the value of a brand new vehicle can drop as much as 25% the moment you drive it off the lot......I'm never going to buy a brand new vehicle ever again unless i have money to burn!
