Spring is Here!! Detail Time!!

Hey guys, spring is here and for those of you in the colder climates like me, you probably have some serious cleaning to do on your trucks. Maybe post some before and after pics of your hard work getting your truck to shine again!

Also, let's all post some lists of our favorite cleaning products and maybe some tips. One of the newer members, Skyboi, has posted some invaluable tips on detailing our rides as he apparently owned and operated a full auto detailing business. Great addition to the family, I think!

I, myself, try to take care of my vehicle's cleanliness regardless of weather, as I'm sure alot of you do. But there's no more relaxing (in my opinion) thing to do, than take a nice weekend and THOROUGHLY detail your ride. Goodbye salt and snow covered roads and hello to shiny a s s Titans!

Re: Spring is Here!! Detail Time!!

I'd really like to try one of those. I'm terrified of doing irreversible damage to my truck or having to pay someone to fix my screw-up.

Is it possible to do any damage with one of those or do they work differently than a regular buffer?

Re: Spring is Here!! Detail Time!!

I was always leary after screwing up a girlfriends hood with a buffer years ago.The guys at Adams showed us how to work this, you can watch their video on the link on this forum. After about 30 seconds of training,I was going at it.Th P C polisher is an orbital and will not cause damage even when buffing edges of fenders etc like a rotary can.
This was proved by Adam himself on my hood last month pushing down hard enough to stall it on my hood,I about $hit myself.
I have ALWAYS polished by hand since the GF hood incident 20 years ago, until yesterday I ordered one and can't wait to do the wifes car next.
By the way,my Titan came out awesome along with everyone else that did this yesterday.Derwud ordered one also, along with $150 worth of supplies after seeing how easily he removed the scratches and bush pin stripes from his black truck.
Contact P's Titan,he can get you some discounts on some of this stuff.
I promise you,you will not be disappointed and will love the polisher and the products.

Re: Spring is Here!! Detail Time!!

With all do respect to Nissan Mike...Be very careful if attempting to buff your vehicle for the first time...This is something that needs to be attempted when you have several cars worth of experience...

A spinning machine will show no mercy.

Trust me,an oscilating polisher is not scary,if it was I would have paid a seasoned expert to do my truck. My first time out with the Porter Cable came out awesome.

I was there with N.M. and he did an outstanding job on his truck and he is most right. With the Porter Cable Polisher, in combo with Adam's products you only have to worry about how good it's going to look and not about burning the paint.. Now if you are crazy enough to get a hi speed buffer and compound, yeah you have to be careful.. Adam's gave me confidence to start detailing my own cars and trucks..

Enjoy it! I know I love mine. I'm still waiting on my orange pad from Adam's, so once that comes in, I'll see what I can do on my truck on all the scratches...

Are the pinstripes that bad that you have to use the orange? It's a pretty aggressive pad isn't it?

Did you guys remember to get the quick connector that works with their wheels? I think they sell them with the wheels as a package. They snap on like a socket snaps on the wrench. The PC came with polish wheel that screws on,it'll work, just not as trick.

Re: Spring is Here!! Detail Time!!

Um, yeah. The scratches are pretty bad. Lots of trail rash! Not to mention all the CORR rash too!
