Clearcoat is like a lens that shows the crisp picture of the paint underneath. Think about it. The more you touch it, the more you micro scratch it.
The less you touch the clearcoat surface of your paint...the less you cloud it.

I wash my Titan, plug in my leafblower and grab a beer and dry....When dry...I wax, grab a beer and look at it.

All very easy and refreshment to boot!!

Here I come to save the day! Use a clay bar and the spots should disappear.

I tried glass scrub by glass science and it seemed to have worked the best so far. It hasnt removed the water spots completely but it has removed about 70% of them. Next I think I am going to try a clay bar. If that doesnt work I will go with skyboi's tips which were very helpful.

Yeah guys, always start with the least aggressive method first. This way you won't run into as much trouble.

Here's the direction I'd go to get things off glass:
1. regular glass cleaner with a good scrubbing
2. Vinegar water mixture
3. Clay bar with a soapy water mix
4. 0000 steel wool (called 4 aught)
5. razor blade
6. Buff with a wool pad and light glaze.

Also...Get your wiper blades out of the way...Some cleaners will deteriorate the rubber and you won't realize they're screwed til you need them.

I've read elsewhere that if a clay bar doesn't get the water spots out, then use a paint polish & buffer.

My point was polish would be safer than using steel wool or a razor blade, but I didn't want to come right out & say it because I appreciate the info you post & didn't want to offend you.

NAh! no offense taken Bullwinkle...this is mild mannered Skyboi...I'm here to enjoy.

I know that people hear steel wool and think "sandpaper, scratch, abrasive etc..." But the 4aught or 0000 is very mild and I've found that if the claybar won't take something off...the 0000 or the blade will. just don't use a ton of pressure
The trick with the blade is to get the angle almost parallel at the glass not so much close to 90 degree but like 10 degrees.

Has anybody tried Barkeepers Friend for water spots on windows?

We have a black glass cooktop in our kitchen that was a complete pain to clean (the exact opposite of what I thought it would be) and somebody recommended Barkeepers Friend. Works like a charm, no hazing; the only drawback is it is a powder, like Comet, so after you polish the glass you may have to clean up excess product.

I have no idea about using it on paint. It seems it would be way too harsh.

Barkeepers Friend is available at Lowe's.

WOOOAAAHHH! Barkeepers friend is like COMET....Be careful here.

Go back a few posts where I explain going from mild to aggressive methods. Don't forget that Safety Glass is glass infused with plastic and can be scratched or etched if harshly cleaned. Start mild with non abrasive methods then move up to gravel. LOL!
