WHat he said....

Also the most important part of the paintjob is the prep...

Good colors on red would be...bright yellow, gold, gunmetal metalic

Re: Brake paint

Ya, I have a Red Alert truck, I was thinking of using either bright red, or Yellow.

When I do it this summer I am also going to do the air intake and engine cover in the same color, should be cool, I will get some pics up later....

I am leaning to Yellow

Anyone done it yet???

Re: Brake paint

I painted my rear rotors with the Duplicolor brand in red to match my brembo system up front.

1. Kit is messy, paint very thin.
2. Prep is key.
3. Give it time to completely cure.

Now with that said, mine is chipping off already. I went above and beyond the called out cleaning process included with the kit. I even used brake cleaner, brake dust cleaner, rag after rag, high pressured air. I just dont think Duplicolor's version is thinck enough and withstands the heat cycles. I would definitely shop around for different brands. Others have said th same about the kit i used as well. It looks appealing because it is a "kit", but it lacks in quality to me.

Nice... I didn't know about this stuff. Next time I need a high temp paint, I'll try their products.

Re: Brake paint

Shucks, now that I peeked in here, I'm going to have to be selling my 2 Duplicolor Paint kits. Taking it to the Rock! Looking into the product above, never heard of it.
