Cleaning up a paint rub/scratch.

This winter I was backing my truck into the garage and got a little too close on the passenger side and left some paint on the truck from the garage door trim...

I saw that commercial for Nu Finish Scratch Doctor and thought, what the hell.

The plan.

After. Woop, just noticed I dripped on the tire...

I'm sold, it worked pretty good. There are still some deeper clear coat scratches but it got rid of all the paint and some of the lighter scratches.

mmmmm, beer...

I think if i had to do this on a regular basis a power tool would definitely be in order. I'm looking forward to more of your writeups!

LOL!...

I was lucky when i started....I landed a gig detailing mostly rental cars cause I needed the steady business...I mean they were all pigs as far as being dirty....But it was paid practice til I could command my price in the big leagues...

It's funny...One day I was in an endless cespool of rental nightmares the next day I said time to think big and it was Mercedes, Beemers and Ferrari.

Funny though...That's when the real work started...Couldn't afford to make any mistakes or pzzz off a highroller.

So now I'm glad to pass on the knowledge...I just hope it helps cause I want every Titan I see to shine.

could you use that scratch remover w/ a DA buffer? what would the cutting power of that stuff be compared to some other medium/fine cut polishes? i have a nice white paint mark on my wifes black sequoia mirror where she forgot to put the mirrors in before pulling into the garage. that stuff looks like it would work great but would it be safe w/ a DA buffer? thanks.

It would probably work but you have to be careful once you introduce a machine. The properties of grit change when you apply pressure and heat.

I would start with a glaze and a foam pad and work toward more aggressive grits. You can always take a little off but you can't put a little back.

Black is not very forgiving so be careful...

thats the part that im worried about. i will post some pre/post pics when i do it.
