Just finished!

Thanks everyone for all their help, especially Skyboi. After reading most of the threads here, and numerous PMs to Skyboi I finally decided to take on detailing my truck. I washed it, then went over it with a clay bar, then waxed it.

The paint is as smooth as a sheet of glass, you can use the chrome as a mirror, and I highly recommend Skyboi waxing tip of taping and papering everything you are not waxing. I remember waxing my dad's old truck and spending a ton of time trying to get wax off of stuff. Spend the extra time, paper it all and it will come out great!

Here are some pics of the finished product...sorry no before pics.

Re: Just finished!

I tell ya, it did not even look that good when I brought her home from the dealership.

I just drove down to the dealership to show a couple of my friends (2 salesmen and one in the sales department). They called their detailer out from the back and asked him why their vehicles did not look like that after he got done with them! LOVE IT!

It took about 6 hours of hard work, but it was really dirty and I kind of did a couple steps twice because I did not think about it right and section it off more logically, but next time I figure I can get it done start to finish in about 4 to 5 hours...but no matter how long it takes, it is definitely worth it!

Re: Just finished!

Yeah, I found that amusing, considering my truck is only 6 months old, and the paint is like a sheet of glass...oh well, I am happy with it Again, thanks a ton for all the advice Sky, I truly appreciate it. Just finished with my wife's jeep and it also looks awesome

Re: Just finished!

Most paint jobs these days have a small dimpling effect...This is normal and I've seen it on most vehicles I've detailed.... If you can feel it with your fingertips than it's serious...
