DANG this paint is soft. Is more clear coat the answer?

I've only had this truck for 4 days and have light scratching. Being blue, they show quickly.

I've searched and found that it's a common thing, but has anybody thought about having these repsrayed with more clear to "toughen them up" ?

As my truck is still new and the scratches are so few right now it might be worth it, but really, is it worth it?

you are being very generous calling it soft. I call it pure crap.

Re: DANG this paint is soft. Is more clear coat the answer?

I work at a paint and body shop, and to tell you the truth, most of the clear coats available are even softer (scratch easier) than the OEM finish. I have yet to find a clear that is scratch resistant. Or at least harder than OEM. If the scratches are not that deep, I would try to color sand them out with 2000 wet sand paper and buff and polish it with something like 3M's perfect it 3000 system. If you can't catch the scratch with your nail it more than likely will buff out. Hope this helps!

Even if you have it repainted it will still be soft for a month or so until the clear is totally cured out.The best thing i have seen for hiding scratches is made by 3M its a hand glaze that is silicone based and man it works good. On other hand I am sure that ADAM'S makes something similar

Re: DANG this paint is soft. Is more clear coat the answer?

ACtually, Some of House ofKolors Clear(UFC-35)is pretty scratch resistant. I painted my rangerand cleared itusing HOK UFC-35, and you can almos not wet sand the stuff. Oneday while detailing it, I noticed thatasomeone had keyed it! I washed it and then machine buffed itwithout sanding, and the keyscratch was gone!
Here is a pic:
