How do we prevent headlight haze?

What can we do to prevent this haze from forming on the headlight covers? My Titan is not garage kept.

Frequent polishing will help with the oxidation, also avoid driving with your lights on when you don't need them, prolonged durations with your lights on heats up the lenses and causes them to yellow from the inside. My Titan is 3.5 years old and the lights are still crystal clear, I polish them every couple months with mothers plastic polish.

Re: How do we prevent headlight haze?

I always use the Griots Clay bar on mine and they are crystal clear and mine is an 2004. I wax them all the time. its the oxidation, so you want to seal that out. Griots has a paint sealer that is good for one year and I use that now.

My friends 99 prelude had yellow lights. I used 1500 sandpaper,WET then 2,000,WET, then buffed them with 3M Fine Cut compound and a wool mit on a high speed buffer and they came out like new. they do not yellow from the inside. this is the outside doing this because the inside is sealed from air. Try the 2000 grit sandpaper first (WET). works like a champ!!

Re: How do we prevent headlight haze?

I used Griot's Garage Polish #3 (the most aggressive polish) on a '91 Ford Ranger last weekend. It made a night and day difference. The headlights are back to looking like brand new. I followed up with some regular wax.
